10:10 AM – 11.00 AM: Trip to the Local Market
Our first stop will be a local market unknown to visitors. Your guide will explain daily life in the market, regional and national products, great food, and the vast selection of spices, chilis, vegetables and tropical fruits. Meet local market owners who love to share their local food secrets. It is here that you will discover the fusion of international cultures and products that define Mexican cuisine.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Local Food Secret
Off to a local neighborhood we go to experience one of Cancun’s culinary secrets, a local restaurant that serves hand made tortillas, regional dishes, and age old recipes that survived the Spanish conquest. Learn how the Spanish influenced the Mexican kitchen and the evolution of Mexican cuisine as locals adapted to the many imported products brought in from Europe, the Middle East and India.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Free Ceviche, Beer and Tequila
Fish tacos and beer. Do we need to say more? We are off to one of the best fish taco places in Cancun.
Our last stop in a popular Cancun mall is all about dessert. As you savor this traditional treat, your guide will discuss how sugar, chocolate and vanilla became important ingredients in Mexican food and part of its agricultural industry.
1:00 PM: End Of Tour
It is here we say farewell. Your guide will help you hop on the local bus, or hail a taxi for your return to your hotel. If you want to keep shopping and enjoy the true city of Cancun, this is the perfect place to start.
